Keeping it 100! - Cornelia Wills When to Let it Go and Keep It 100!

Literally, 100 is the number following 99 and preceding 101.

According to Wikipedia, in mathematics 100 is the basis of percentages, with 100% being a full amount. In science, 100 degrees on the Celsius scale is the boiling temperature of pure water at sea level. While in politics, the United States Senate has 100 senators. In money, the hundred-dollar bill is the largest U.S. bill in print. One hundred is the age a person becomes a centenarian. 100 is the record number of points scored in one NBA game by a single player–set by Wilt Chamberlain of the Philadelphia Warriors.

BUT, the term “Keeping it 100” in the hip-hop vernacular means “Keeping it Real”—that means be honest with yourself as well as others.

So, how do you Keep it 100?

As we approach a new year, I reflect on ways to Keep it 100. I was intrigued by a FaceBook post titled, “Throw Out Your Trash before 2018”. In doing so, we should throw out those things that are not moving us forward:
Grudges Fake Friends
Exes Anything Toxic

Doubts Bad Habits

WHEW…how profound!! When we hold on to grudges and unforgiveness, it gives the offending person power over us. They control us. Further, unforgiveness creates stress and can manifest itself in adverse physical conditions. LET IT GO!

In the process of forgiving others, rid yourself of the toxic people in your life—be it friends, exes, or whomever. They are energy drainers!

Another intriguing post talked about welcoming a new year and NOT taking anything into 2018. It went on to say:
If you owe me, don’t worry about it.
If you wronged me, I’m over it.
If you’re fighting with me, you won.
If we aren’t speaking, that’s ok too. Be safe and I still wish you well
If you’re talking about me, thanks for the advertisement.
If you don’t deal with me, continue not to.
If you don’t like me, I don’t care.
If you feel I wronged you, I apologize.
In all things I forgive you.

Life is too short for all the extra, unnecessary drama. No one is promised tomorrow.
I’m not bitter, I’m better.
I don’t hate you, I simply love me more.

For now and always– KEEP IT 100!!!
